Supervisor Contracting

Outokumpu Kemi Mine is the only chromium mine in the EU, and from there the production chain from chromium ore to stainless steel begins. The production chain continues from Kemi Mine as an integrated entity to Tornio where Outokumpu’s Ferrochrome works and stainless steel production units are located. Kemi Mine guarantees Outokumpu access to the main raw material for stainless steel, chromium, well into the future.

We offer a very interesting working environment in Finland’s largest underground mine. Our annual mining is about 2.7 – 3.1 MME ore. We are investing to mine future in Deep Mine program and with this investment Outokumpu secures continuous chrome ore and concentrate supply for the coming decades. DeepMine program means that Kemi Mine’s deepening to 1000-level or 1 km depth.

Main responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation of plans, contracts and schedules for underground mine contracts
• Monitoring contractor’s activities that those correspond to the contract in terms of safety, quality and schedule
• Cooperation with various stakeholders
• Monitoring compliance with laws, agreements, regulations and guidelines in your area of responsibility

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology or similar
• Experience of mining, industry or construction, working in supervisor or construction.
• Responsible and hard-working approach, organisational skills and good interaction skills
• Pro-active and able to work independently also under pressure
• Fluent verbal and written skills in Finnish and English
